Commissions

The process….

Each bespoke commission starts with a no obligation consultation with Karen. This can be done in a variety of ways such as in person at our studio in Dundee, via zoom, email or telephone call. Consultations usually take between 45mins-1hr depending on what you are looking for. During the consultation we will discuss your requirements from what type of jewellery, for example necklace, earrings, ring etc, metals and gemstones required, budget, deadline if you have one, styles you like and things that are symbolic to you. The more information you give us the more unique and personal the design ideas.

Karen will then take this information create several designs for your unique piece of jewellery. Each design will be slightly different and have varying price points. These designs will then be emailed to you to view and decide in your own time. If there are elements of several designs you like this can then be combined into one design.

*Please note* The design process is free however, please remember that Metallium Jewellery owns the design and designs cannot be taken to another jewellery designer to make. We also DO NOT REPLICATE bespoke designs for anyone apart from the person who commissioned it.

If you choose to go ahead with a design a 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work commences. Once deposit is received Karen will begin hand crafting your unique piece of jewellery using time honoured techniques from our Dundee workshop. We often like to take pictures of the making process keeping you up to date every step of the way. If at any stage of the process you have a question, please feel free to drop us a line.

On completion we will send you a picture of your bespoke piece, which we hope you will be delighted with and cherish for many years to come.

An invoice for the remainder of payment will also be sent at this point. Once payment is received your piece will be carefully packaged and sent out to you special delivery which is insured, tracked and traced. This ensures your unique piece of jewellery reaches you safely the very next day.
